WELCOME TO MY STORY

In 2017, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. I soon relocated and fell in love with Florida’s endless summer. Since then, I have taught in various districts throughout central Florida, nurturing my passion for data and discovering my calling in educational leadership.

Many teachers will tell you that the reality of the profession often differs from their expectations during their first year. Throughout the years, I have embraced numerous mistakes, firmly believing that events unfold for a reason, even when it’s hard to see at the moment.

My initial years of teaching were filled with enthusiasm and personal growth. I wholeheartedly embraced the changes that accompanied the profession and actively engaged in small professional development sessions to educate others. In my third year, I transitioned to a school in inner-city Orlando. Though the experience presented its challenges, it broadened my understanding of educational law and the significant influence that administration has on the school climate. This sparked my passion for leadership.

Between my third and fourth years, my husband and I decided to start a family, prompting me to seek a position closer to home. I transitioned to a school that I hoped would feel like a nurturing environment. However, I soon realized that it wasn't the right fit for me. My once-vibrant spirit began to wane, and I found it difficult to be the educator my students needed. That winter, I was let go. Instead of allowing this setback to defeat me, I seized the opportunity to persevere and reignite my passion for teaching.

Just two weeks later, I discovered a new sanctuary within a community that reignited my love for education. I finished the school year as a math intervention specialist, uncovering my true calling in educational leadership. Since then, I have taken on roles as a team leader across various grade levels and conducted training sessions for both local and district educators. While I have gained so much knowledge already, I am confident that the best is yet to come.

In the fall of 2025, I returned to school to pursue my Master’s in Educational Leadership at the University of Central Florida while teaching full time. I invite you to join me on this journey as I strive to learn what it truly means to lead, provide valuable support for teachers, and create a positive impact on education far and wide.
